Collar, oil on canvas, 2024

Caroline Wright makes painting, drawings, installations and work that is time based. She sometimes works site specifically responding to locations as varied as cities, beaches, festivals and public buildings. She is interested in people, in their daily lives and the way in which they form an identity through place attachment and the signifying objects they surround themselves with.

Wright is currently undertaking PhD research at the Royal College of Art and is Programme Leader for post- and undergraduate Fine Art at The Open College of the Arts, part of the Open University. She exhibits nationally and internationally and has been in receipt of several awards, grants and prizes from, for example, Arts Council England, Cambridge University, AN Publications and firstsite Collectors.
